Although the Furthur Network was started by
a few Jam Band lovers, it has grown to include a Big and Varied
Community of People who share and download the legally tradable
music available. Music lovers from all walks of life download
and share music from each other and use FurthurNet. These could/may
include members of the Bands, their management, their Crews, and
maybe their lawyers, the "Kind" Tapers, the eclectic
Fans, the Tour-heads young & old, Techies and non-techies,
MP3-heads and SHN-heads, Grumpy People & Happy people, People
of all Nationalities and Countries, hippies & bikers and Bottom
line, "People who just love music". If you fit into
any category listed or not listed above, you'll fit right in.
The People who choose to use FurthurNet
are patient people. It is still in "beta" and "somewhat
buggy", and since it is peer-to-peer sometimes you may be
downloading from a modemer (e.g.: person on a modem), therefore
it may seem slow at times for those who use and like FTP. This
Community is a "network" of all kinds of individual
people who share their music with each other. As we build this
Community any input from users is welcome, after all "a community
built from within has a stronger foundation."
If that sounds good to you, continue on.....
To get you started, The FurthurNet community
"really" starts in the FurthurNet forums where new people
to the community and the FurthurNet software(e.g.; newbies), can
read the Frequently
Asked Questions and learn some of the basics of music downloading
and FurthurNet that a new person would want to know. Please take
a moment to read through it, thoroughly, at least once, 'specially
since it really doesn't take that long and the FurthurNet Crew
works hard on it so let's not let it go to waste.
Next, The FurthurNet community flows
heavily into and continues to thrive 24/7 in the integrated FurthurNet
chat rooms, where there are always 500+ people in the Main Room.
Quick Help may be found here usually by some "kind soul",
but if you ask something that is covered in the FAQ's
some "grumpy soul" might just point that petty fact
out. Best to read it first.
Also before joining anything, please
take a moment to read the general etiquette
and rules for the whole Community, this way you will have
your clu3p0ns in your pocket. Once in FurthurNet chat, learn to
speak a little truxel-eze and "truxel" will become yer
friend. truxel is pretty cool, so type "help?" into
the chat window and truxel will slap you with a big phat clu3p0n
on what "truxel-eze" is.
Remember,... you, are really why,
this community is, "what it is".
So Keep on Sharing and Be kind...
